Church

Today's sermon from Matt is about the church and our building of the church how we are here to love one and other we are broken by our sins and Christ has brought us up to him. When we enter yhe church we should feel unconditional love that ot matters not how ugly , clumsy , stupid , beautiful , lovely you are to be loved because God loves you. But we are a work in progress trying to emulate Christ. To live closer to Christ. To glow in out love to show the world Jesus' love because he is our goodness.
Today I felt that my wife is in hospital I am not the best as a single parent but I walked into church and he brought my happiness because I was with those who love me because they do, no other agenda but love for each other because God loves me

Somebody once said...

Something along the lines of if your willing to give up and part of your freedom and liberty so that you are safer from terroism then they are already winning . I may have just horrendously mis-quoted somone but it does neatly sum up my feeling about the goverments bill that will allow GCHQ accsess communications on demand as discribed here www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-17576745.
Communication between me and whoever I choose to talk text email whatever should be mine and private as I am a mainly law abiding citizen and I am concerned that if this article is true then the ability to start proceedings based on guilt of association becomes easier. The ability to tarnish and abuse this form of power to me seems a unnecassary step towards rather than away from Big Brother. For freedom is to be cherished and for a goverment to have the right to take away from those freedoms based on suspicion and fear is contary to all we are sending our troops to fight against in Afghanistan. The "War on terror" should produce more freedoms within the countries fighting against oppresive regimes not less. To sum up a funny poster I saw on a friends' facebook "Support our troops.We will need them to overthrow our goverment" and "A patriot is somone who belives that his country agrees with his country all the time and his goverment some of the time"(again possibly a horrible mis-quote )

The arguement for seems to be it will help with "terrorism counter-intelligence and crime prevention"
So if this is the case why would this not require court approval I'm not suggesting it needs to be an open court but I believe that some sort of judicial review should be in place in order to keep this level of snooping on your own citizens from being abused or used uneccasarily. Time could be a factor here but if this is as I to understand it is for building a profile of those who are likely to do wrong in order to get a warrant to read the people that you suspects emails then I would imagine this is not often a bolt from the blue that cannot wait until a judge reviews the correct papers and signs off on it.

A nice family walk

Ok this mornings weight was 15st 8. I don't think I lost 2lb overnight but my scales were happy. One of my private rules is that I won't talk about work on the internet in any form.So if the content of the day is short you can guarentee it's been a 10 and a half hour shift.
So came home from work and had stuffed peppers that my son cooked with baby new pots. My first meal of the day and I'm planning museli for supper.At least the stuffed peppers were nice.
We then embarked on a family walk just a lesuirly stroll around barry waterfront.Slow does not cover how slow we acctually went but it was lovely walking with my family for 53 minutes watching the sunset checking on my wife's app which planets we could see , Venus and Jupiter btw.Then home for hot chocolate and marshmallows turns out marshmallows are low in saturated fat so I can eat them ; woo hoo. Hot chocolate as you can imagine is not.We also played 3d snakes and ladders which it turns out does not have a need for special eyewear......
Anyway everyone's gone to bed and is quiet so I'm going to pootle off too

This weekend my cycling season started so in true Bridget Jones style the stats' you'll need are current weight 15st 10 cholesterol level : 6.8. This time last year I was weighing in at 17st 8 and a mighty 7.2 cholesterol (for those of you unaware of what it should be 4.9 is meant to be very high). Oh and days without a cigarette 19 (thank you champix). Alcohol units is way up on last year but a man's got to have some fun.
So I'm going to use this blog for my food tracker and calorie counting of my rides and pictures and if I ever work out how to maps.
Today was roast chicken (good) roasties(bad) boiled pots and carrots (good) gravy (reallly reallly bad because I made it with the fat).Roast chicken sandwich with lettuce and salad cream.
